For just $15 per year, you and your immediate family can become a member of the Christchurch Kidney Society. This membership provides you with access to a range of support services.
Mobile Dialysis Unit
We have a campervan fitted with a dialysis machine available for hire which allows patients to travel. Bookings essential.
Newsletters
We produce a regular newsletter with information, news and invitations to both education meetings and social occasions.
Kidney Information Centre
A drop-in centre for patients and public alike, providing information, support and fellowship.
Hospital Visiting
A programme run by the field worker who visits patients in the hospital to provide personal support
Field Officers/Workers
Available via the KIC to provide support and information by telephone or in person
Comfort Items
Such as care packs, videos, radios and similar items for the use of patients in the hospital or at the Home Dialysis Training Centre.
Youth Support
The ‘CKS, Graeme Cox Youth Education Trust’ assists with the provision of education and educational aids for young people who are members of, or who’s families are members of the society and are disadvantaged in their education by chronic kidney diseases. Application forms are available from the KIC & CKS.
No Needles Wristbands
These wristbands come in 21cm & 24cm sizes and are available from the CKS office. It would be much appreciated if you were able to donate a gold coin, but this is not compulsory.
Fistula Covers
Fistula covers come in a range of colours and sizes and are available from the CKS office. It would be much appreciated if you were able to donate a gold coin, but this is not compulsory.
Peddlers
Peddlers are great for leg and arm exercise all from the comfort of your own home. We have these available to borrow from the CKS office, we simply need sign-off from your doctor to make sure you are medically safe to use the peddler.
